" “It’s a mature car owned by a mature person.”

The Ride The Driver: Glenn Car in Question: 2011 Kia Forte Spotted at: Harold Washington Cultural Center, 4701 South King Drive, Chicago, IL 60615 Odometer: 5,500 Car’s Nickname: The Car THE DEFENSE

Q: Hi Glenn. Welcome to Defend Your Ride Chicago. What is your car’s main use?

A: Mainly work. I work in Will County out by Joliet and Lockport. I’m a contractor. I do home improvement, so I’m always on the road. I get stuck in traffic all the time on I-80.

Q: WHen you’re not commuting, do you ever take road trips in this car?

A: I’ve only owned the car for five months. I haven’t really taken it anywhere far yet. One day I went to Evanston. I was on I-94. I was coming from South Holland and it was no problem. It was a smooth ride. I went out there to show my son the car and let him drive it.

Q: Since this is a new car, do you have any rules for it?

A: No eating, no smoking, or anything that can mess up the car. I can break them, but no one else can. It keeps the value of the car. No one wants to buy a smoky car. If this car smelled like smoke, I wouldn’t have bought it. It gives you more appeal on the resale side. If you notice, it’s nice and clean. No burn marks, no spills and I like to keep it that way. "
