Kellen Davis Raising Funds for Slain Bears Fan's Family

" The Bears were shocked that a fan in Jacksonville to see them win over the Jaguars was stabbed to death in a bar. Tight end Kellen Davis decided to use his bye weekend to raise money for the family of William Pettry, the fan who died.

Davis told NBC Chicago that he was shocked when he heard the news.

"I heard on Tuesday when we had meetings, some people mentioned it. I mean, for what? For why? It's so senseless."

He was connected to Pettry's wife through a mutual acquaintance, and worked with his marketing manager to create an event.

"She was reaching out for help. I thought it was so sad. A senseless, terrible act "
