Rahm Announces Board of Ed, CHA Appointments

" Mayor Rahm Emanuel made an appointment to the Chicago Board of Education and a nomination to the Chicago Housing Authority Board.

On Sunday, the mayor's office announced Emanuel tapped Chicago Board of Education member Rodrigo Sierra to fill in for long-time CHA Board of Commissioners Carlos Ponce, who is stepping down from his role. In the same press release, Emanuel also announced Dr. Carlos Azcoitia was tapped to fill Sierra's open spot on the Chicago Board of Education.

"Carlos has dedicated his career to helping students succeed, as a teacher, principal and administrator and the breadth of his experience makes him uniquely qualified for this role on the Board of Education,” stated Mayor Emanuel in the release "
